Choose Cronitor if
- You need PagerDuty, OpsGenie or SMS in the alert path, or on-call scheduling.
- You want 30-second check frequency and six months of detailed run history for compliance.
- Per-monitor pricing suits you: a handful of critical jobs with several users watching them.
Choose Vivere if
- You have many small jobs: 100 monitors cost $9 a month rather than $2 each.
- Five team members should not cost $5 a month each.
- Slack, Discord, Telegram and ntfy alerts matter more than SMS.
Moving over
Cronitor's telemetry URLs (?state=run, ?state=complete, ?state=fail) map onto Vivere's /start, success and /fail suffixes. If you use the cronitor CLI wrapper, vivere run -- <command> is the equivalent and also captures the output tail.
